Nice text

' it's amazing! This place is beautiful in the sunshine. Have so much to thank God for. Hope ur having a great week:-) '

(sorry for nicking your idea, but I love it!~)

We prayed for sunshine this week in Small Group, because my friend has gone on a dig and she didn't want it to be raining all the time, and my other friend has SAD, so he is craving sunshine, and God has just totally answered us.

Even in the small things, he totally looks after us and loves to give us good gifts!

Challenged and encouraged

These past weekends have seen me and Craig travelling to Wales to go on different training weekends, two weekends ago we went to Cardiff to think about a week that we took part in last summer (a kids camp thing) called Flames of Fire, (Craig did a year out with Ignite who run the kids meetings at FOF) and I really enjoyed it, so am going back this August to help out again. The weekend was really cool, I felt so close to god, more than I have done for ages, and just felt that some of my questions had been answered concerning why some of the things that have happened in my life, have been.

I am mainly talking about Matt (again!) and things like that. That weekend really helped me to see that God had been leading me and teaching me through matt and others to love everyone. Its quite hard to explain, but the result is that God has opened my eyes more up to see how BIG he really is, and just how much grace covers us.

The second weekend (the one we've just had) saw me and Craig going to Llanelli (South Wales) joining New Horizons, and just gaining teaching and training from them about the possibility of leading a mission (eventually) to somewhere, I mean we're talking a good few years, and also me going out to places beforehand! So I can understand more etc... Craig and I might never actually lead a team, but the skills we learnt that weekend would help us in other things. I was really encouraged that the Ignite leader (Nigel James) had chosen Craig and me and a couple of others to do this leadership training. Anywhoo I'l keep u guys updated on whats happening!

Also, I've been asked to be small group co-ordinator (to be on committee) which I'm stil praying about, but I kinda need to give them an answer real soon. I have been really encouraged by being asked, but also have felt that it would be quite challenging (especially next year when I go into third year) please pray about that, it would be really cool if you could!

God is awesome!

I have been really challenged recently by the book of Romans, as I have been studying it within small group and within the CU, and I have been changed by it also, and I just wanted to symbolise the change with a new blog. I've been so static and felt so stagnant about my naive-freda blog, I really wanted to just start something new.
I feel that God has been totally changing me, refining me more than I've ever known, and just opening up a way for me to let God be God, and not box him into something that I can understand or explain away.

God is awesome and he has to be allowed to be awesome in our lives, for we can compartmentalise God so much so that he will never work with us or through us.

We need to acknowledge the awesomeness of God in our lives, and what he means to us, before we can do anything else.

This blog is moving from being naive to knowing what is good and true in my life, and embracing these things in the midst of joy and doubt, pain and excitement.

I will seek to allow God to be in my life, and just to seek him in everything.
